Downtown Street closures announced.
The Natchitoches Festival of Lights continues this weekend in downtown Natchitoches.
Live musical entertainment will be provided on Saturday, Dec. 12 on the downtown riverbank featuring the Natchitoches Nazarene Choir at 2 p.m. Later that evening, Avery Michaels and Exit 209 will perform from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The highlight of the evening will be a spectacular fireworks show over Cane River Lake at 7 p.m.
The public should be aware of the following street closures for Saturday:
· The downtown riverbank will be closed to all vehicles the entire day on Saturday.
· Front Street, from Touline Street to Lafayette Street, will be closed to incoming vehicles, beginning at 4 p.m. on Saturday. The street will not reopen to vehicles until approximately one hour after the 7 p.m. fireworks show when local law enforcement have cleared the majority of pedestrians off Front Street.
· The Church Street Bridge will close to both motorists and pedestrians at 6:30 p.m. Saturday in preparation for the fireworks show. The bridge will open after the fireworks show upon inspection by the State Fire Marshal’s Office.
