Terrence Simien & The Zydeco Experience
6:45—9:30 pmFor more than 2 decades Grammy award winning artist Terrance Simien, 8th generation Louisiana Creole has been shattering the myths about what his indigenous Creole Zydeco music is and is not. Leading his Zydeco Experience Band, Simien has become one of the most respected and internationally recognized touring and recording artists in roots music today. He has performed over 5000 concerts, toured millions of miles to over 40 countries and reached at least a million people during his eventful 25 year career.
Simien, along with business partner/wife was successful in establishing a new Grammy voting category in 2007. In 2008 he opened the Grammy pretelecast awards ceremony with a 10 minute performance. Later that day he received his own Grammy for “Best Zydeco or Cajun Music Album” at the 50th annual awards!

The LaCour Trio is an exciting interactive group that provides big band sound with only three members. The groups takes you on a musical journey covering Zydeco, Soul, Country, Rock and Roll and Top 40 Dance. The LaCour Trio brings the listener the very best in OFF STAGE entertainment.
Vocalist, Bassist and Trumpeter, Katrice LaCour a Graduate of Grambling State University in Music Education and former member of the Famed Tiger Marching Band has performed professionally for over 20 years. He is currently the Orchestra Director at the N.S.U. Elem/Middle Lab School.
Rainey LaCour a Graduate of the Musicians Institution of Technology with a degree in Percussion has also performed for over 20 years. He is currently teaching privately and performing across Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas.
Denver Shoop Jr. a Graduate of Louisiana College – Bachelor of Arts and NSU – Master of Music. Denver has performed for over 20 years and currently teaches privately in Alexandria, La.
The LaCour Trio has performed in many venues and locations including five years for Royal Caribbean Cruise lines ( Miami, Puerto Rico, Jamaica, Hawaii, Alaska, Virgin Islands, Belize, Acapulco, San Diego, Los Angeles, and many more.) The band also performed for military troops with the U.S.O. Shows for five years in South Korea.
